Pride of Strathcona Award

Dear Members:
As you might have already heard, the Writers Foundation of Strathcona County will be receiving a
Pride of Strathcona Award for Arts and Culture in our community. These awards are given each year to
those individuals or groups in Strathcona County nominated in the following categories:
business, community, arts & culture and sports.

We were fortunate to have our nomination entered by one of our members, Lea Kulmatycki, and although
it was not awarded in the year nominated, we are pleased to receive and accept this recognition in 2011.
Thank you Lea, for nominating the WFSC!

(Congratulations to Bill Roberts, Past President of the ACCSC, who also received an award in the Arts & Culture category - way to go Bill! )

Since the nomination in 2009, the WFSC has accomplished many things and looks to a promising future.
Our dreams, our goals, our achievements - it is all for our members and the recognition we receive as part
of our own community and as part of a dynamic Alberta industry. In the last couple of years, we have come
to embrace members beyond our immediate community and share this award with our global "virtual" members
who are a part of our growing success, yesterday and today, here and beyond.

Information about the award can be found on the County of Strathcona web site and is posted to our events
calendar on our web site. Representatives from the WFSC will be in attendance on Monday, June 20th,
to receive the award on behalf of the group.

Thank you everyone for making this a wonderful "award winning" successful organization to which to belong.

On behalf of the WFSC
and the Board of Directors,
Sincerely,
Linda J. Pedley, Treasurer
