3. Fantasy of the Beyond
There exists a line
between here and there
Where things uncertain lie
There persists a sign
deep within our minds
Visible to the mind's eye.
Try to explain - try to define
What promises held deep.
Can you convince and offer hope
When it's only dreams you keep?
There exists a line
we cannot ignore
Reality versus pretend
There is a feeling we cannot define
With patience, love, it will be fine
Our hearts we must defend.

Fantasy of the Beyond
-
Amongst the crowds of children, both young and old
I do go, in the shape-of-things-many you can see, you may feel,
My soft, feather-like touch, or a pounding of the pulse, if I may be so bold,
Bold as to choose the path laid for you; trust in me to not conceal.
I am that which is not; a being far removed from the here-and-now;

Of life beyond what we know
I begin to ponder
My curiosity grows
Of what lies yonder
My fantasies unfurl
Of beings with wings
And gates of pearl
I worry I cannot sing
In an angelic coir world
Seeing loved ones again
Surely won’t be bad
That day is far away
For that I am glad
Not yet ready, I pray

Fantasy of the beyond
Beyond, you are the future we yet do not know
Beyond the here and now has become quite the fantasy
Fantasy, I wonder of how you will be presented to us
Fantasy, for sure you will be unlike our past fantasies.
A return to life.
To leave the words unprecedented and pandemic in our past
To put to rest the dreadful images laying daily in our minds
To see an end of the current unsavory fantasy
To learn from mistakes.
To understand the preciousness of life.
To respect our Baby Boomers.
To protect everybody.
To not live in fear but embrace life.
To become less global and more self-Reliant.
Embrace not just each other but our…
