WFSC Christmas Party - A Christmas Conversation (Kate & Nate) by Mandy Eve-Barnett

Updated: Jan 1, 2020

I was asked to share my Xmas Party poem, so here it is. I hope you like it.

I really must begin to bake

Why not take a break?

No I need to finish this cake

I’d rather we went out to skate

Let me get this kitchen straight

I’ll wait by the gate

Are we going to the lake?

Yes hurry up let’s not be late

Kate looked at her mate

His joy at everything such a trait

Remembering their first date

It was such fate

Set up for a blind date

By her pushy roommate

Kate thinking it was a mistake

But going for her friend’s sake

Easy to communicate

Over coffee and cake

Over several more dates

They became intimate

A year later never separate

An apartment upstate

Their home they did make

And a ring to celebrate

Wedding bells resonate

Families congregate

Promises to their mate

Honeymoon joy when they wake

Now home by a warm grate

Slices of cake on each plate

Flames flickering as they ate

Christmas time is so great
